Our Pricing

So that you may have a predictable budget, we will strive to give you a fixed price for any project whenever it is possible.

Estimates.  We will be pleased to come to your site to provide an estimate, at no charge.  To speed the estimate process, we encourage you to use our special email "EZ-Estimate" request form: ► click here ◄ or on "Open an EZ Estimate" menu item.

The email you will then see makes it very easy to send information about (and attach photos of) any items you would like repaired or restored, and to make available any appraisal documents to establish the provenance and/or value of specific items.  (PLEASE NOTE: Depending on your computer's speed, it may only a moment - or perhaps up to 30 seconds  - for the email form to open.)

On-Site Projects and Specialized Small Items.  We will do our utmost to assure that our pricing is all-inclusive and not subject to any variance due to time or costs.  This is usually possible for on-site projects involving limited repair or restoration, or small offsite projects repair and/or restoration of clocks, precision machinery, or smaller wooden items.

A nominal retainer will be expected for all off-site work; a retainer will not normally be expected for on-site projects except where, by mutual agreement, repeated visits will be necessary.

Large Projects.  Our pricing for large projects involving complete restoration is usually based on a time and materials basis, usually within an overall pre-agreed limit.  This includes all instances where items must be transported to our workshop by professional handlers.

Transportation Costs.  Whenever we can do it for the convenience of our customers, we will work on site to avoid your incurring any significant cost of moving items from your site to ours and back.  All necessary transportation costs will be itemized but must be paid for in advance.

Guarantee.  All repairs and restoration projects are guaranteed for one year after completion.

What About Surprises?  During a given work assignment, we often face several decisions that reflect a classic dilemma: either ignore problems the customer does not see to save time and do the minimum necessary to get by, or to fix these problems at an additional cost in time (and sometimes money) to both customer and to us as your service provider.

We choose the latter course whenever we see the wisdom of taking the time to do the job right. This is an investment in our own and the customer's satisfaction.

Where we must charge additionally for the work, we charge a lower price more in line with the minimalist option, especially when these issues arise during the actual work and no one wants to be surprised by additionals.

Whenever we can, we will alert the customer beforehand, so as to allow for the customer to make the decision that could result in a higher price. That can cause time delays during which the customer reaches his or her decision. Alternatively, we will always use our best discretion when, as often happens, we are entrusted by the customer to make these decisions "on the fly".

Change Order Requests requiring additional time and materials will be invoiced in addition to amounts shown in customer-approved estimates, as will any work required to overcome obstacles to completion that could not reasonably be foreseen by the customer and / or CLBrody Artisanat.

Forms of Payment.  We accept payment by cash, check, Visa, and MasterCard.
